We are united in spirit and service. Team Otis members bring their special brand of dedication, enthusiasm and fun to Special Olympics athletes around the world.

	Launched in June 1994 with an international flag-raising ceremony at Otis World Headquarters in Farmington, Conn., United States, Team Otis was the inspiration of Jean Pierre Van Rooy, former president of Otis Elevator Company. Team Otis supports Special Olympics around the globe, bringing a special commonality and camaraderie to company employees worldwide.

We are especially proud of our involvement in the Special Olympics and in the Team Otis members who volunteer their time and fund-raising capabilities so generously. Team Otis and Otis Elevator Company have donated more than US $1 million to Special Olympics programs worldwide. Many Otis executives and senior managers currently serve on Special Olympics boards in countries throughout the world.

Milestones
1995	Employees from more than two dozen countries volunteer at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in New Haven, Conn., United States
1996	Special Olympics/Team Otis Partnership Award initiated to bring recognition to employees for exceptional efforts.
1997	Team Otis raises more than US $100,000 to host a farewell event for athletes following the World Winter Games in Toronto, Canada. It is the first farewell event in the history of the World Games.
1999	Team Otis volunteers create and implement a strategy to present awards on three stages simultaneously to separate groups of track and field athletes at the World Summer Games in North Carolina, United States. It marks the first time this was done at the World Games.
2000	Team Otis volunteers from a dozen countries provide support at Olympic Town for the Special Olympics European Games held in Groningen, The Netherlands.
2001	Forty Team Otis volunteers from eight countries organize and staff the awards area at the Floor Hockey venue at the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Anchorage, Alaska, United States.
